Toxic Chemicals used in industry.. this is something that is too often overlooked. We appreciate the things that industries create for us, pretty much everything man-made comes from some kind of factory.We love the things that we get from industries, but we tend to turn away from the truth about the pollution it causes. Toxic chemicals are a huge huge problem for the environment and industry pollution is one of the main causes. The environment can be simply described as including water, air and land and the interrelationship which exists among andbetween water, air, and land and all living things. It's seems simple enough, water, air, land, people. It shouldn't be so hard for this simple concept of "environment" to be prosperous, but disappointingly, it is. "Each and every second, three hundred and ten Kg of toxic chemicals are released into our air, land and water by industrial facilities around the world!" It's not always easy to grasp how much three hundred and ten kg every second is, but knowing that "approximately ten MILLION tons, over 21 BILLION pounds of toxic chemicals are released into the environment each year", is astonishing. This outrageous amound of pollution is result of industries alone, 21 billion pounds every year and rising rapidly. The statistics can be quite overwhelming, but understanding what is really happening makes things much more personal, and to me raises the concern, that we should all be feeling about this disturbing issue. We know that factories create a very large amount of toxic chemicals, but what exactly are "toxic chemicals". We hear these words but might not necesarily know exactly what is. Toxic chemicals are defined as substances that can cause severe illness, poisoning, birth defects, disease, or death when ingested, inhaled, or absorbed by living organisms. Not only does it destory our earth and the environment that we live in, but it can cause all of these potentionally fatal problems listed. It is important that we start to recognize the negitive effects that toxic chemicals are having on us and the environment we live in and start to put an end to the unsafe ways of releaseing this toxic waste. The current methods of "release" by spilling, leaking, pumping, pouringg, emitting, emptying, discharging, injecting, escaping, leaching, dumping, and disposing into the enviornment are not healthy for anyone. Water, air, land and people. The four parts of a healthy enviornment that must all exist among one another, and the toxic chemicals released by industries are harming all four.. Things must change.
